Athletes & Sports Coaching
“Very few people, whether you’ve been in that job before or not, get into the seat and believe today that they are now qualified to be the CEO. They’re not going to tell you that, but it’s true.”
Howard Schultz, former CEO Starbucks
With sportswomen, getting that 1% extra performance at a pro level it can be the difference that makes the difference. My sports focussed solutions use NLP and performance coaching interventions to help you perform at peak performance. Depending on your sport and your individual needs I can develop a program that will ensure you are at the top of your game and beyond.
In the sports industry, experts discovered that mental blocks and inner fears of failure were preventing sportsmen and women from performing at their best. This concept gave rise to the idea of coaching people to become better at all aspects of life, hence the term life coaching.
The trick is to believe in your ability to succeed. You know from your ‘feedback’ that you can. Just believe that you can do it. If you find at any time that you are diverging from the path, just remember Sir Roger. He isn’t remembered for being the man who lost the Helsinki Olympics, but as the man who broke the four-minute mile. If he could achieve his success after a so-called ‘failure’, so can you!
Sportsmen and women sometime use anchors (an NLP technique developed from Ivan Pavlov) to enhance their performance. The famous England Rugby player Jonny Wilkinson used to clasp his hands together before taking a conversion or penalty kick and I’m pretty sure this was his anchor. You see similar techniques used in sport because it is completely normal to have a ’mind’ coach as a part of most support teams in every kind of sport, even football. Controlling your mind at critical set/match points is completely within your reach. You need to train as hard on your mind as you do on your body., and that’s where I can help you
If you are retiring from sport, I can help you make the right plans to continue to have an awesome life, full of joy and successes paying particular attention to controlling your finances as a result of a change in income status.
